6 Airbags In Vehicles A Should From October 2023

The Union authorities has determined to defer the implementation of the six-airbag security rule for passenger automobiles in till October subsequent 12 months. This was introduced by Union Highway Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari at the moment. The rule will probably be applied from October 1, 2023.

The federal government had earlier deliberate to make six airbags obligatory in all eight-seater autos for enhanced security from October 1, 2022.

“Contemplating the worldwide provide chain constraints being confronted by the auto business and its influence on the macroeconomic situation, it has been determined to implement the proposal mandating a minimal of 6 Airbags in Passenger Vehicles (M-1 Class) w.e.f 01st October 2023,” Mr Gadkari tweeted at the moment.

“Security of all passengers travelling in motor autos regardless of their value and variants is the foremost precedence,” the minister mentioned.

Commenting on the federal government’s choice to defer the six-airbag rule, Clyde Crasto, the Spokesperson for Nationalist Congress Get together (NCP), tweeted: “Security of all passengers in automobiles is a precedence regardless of their value, subsequently automobiles with 6 #airbags obligatory from Oct 2023. However not everybody can afford this variant and since ‘security is a precedence’, will Gadkari ji ask authorities to present a subsidy?”

On January 14, 2022, the Ministry of Highway Transport and Highways had issued a draft notification that made it obligatory for all autos of the M1 class, manufactured after October 1, 2022, to be fitted with six airbags.
