Floyd Mayweather To Face MMA Fighter In Japan Exhibition | Different Sports activities Information

Newly enshrined Corridor of Fame boxer Floyd Mayweather will combat Japanese combined martial arts star Mikuru Asakura in a September exhibition in Japan, organisers stated Tuesday. The previous welterweight world champion, who was inducted into the Worldwide Boxing Corridor of Fame on Sunday after retiring with an unbeaten 50-0 report, beat “Harmful” Don Moore in an exhibition in Abu Dhabi final month. The date, venue and guidelines of his combat towards 29-year-old featherweight Asakura will probably be introduced later this month.

It is going to be the 45-year-old Mayweather’s fourth exhibition and his second in Japan, after beating kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa by TKO in simply two minutes in December 2018, in a bout that was broadly ridiculed.

Mayweather known as himself the “pioneer of exhibitions” and promised to “placed on a present” for followers when he returns in September.

“We’ll deal with him good, we will let him go three rounds, we will let him attempt to land his shot,” Mayweather stated of his opponent.

“I’ll not let him land one punch, it is all as much as me, it is all on what I wish to do,” the American added, describing himself as “the puppet-master”.

Mayweather stated his “legacy is already set in stone” after getting into the Corridor of Fame.

He retired from skilled boxing in 2017 after beating UFC star Conor McGregor.

“It is nice to enter the Corridor of Fame and the beauty of it’s I did every part on my phrases,” he stated.


“You take a look at so many champions and so they can barely stroll, they will barely speak. That is not cool. The secret is to hit and never get hit.”

Asakura stated he intends to “use this chance to boost my title and my worth internationally”.
