Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday expunged the references made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to Sonia Gandhi within the Home on July 28.

Ms Sitharaman had demanded an apology from the Congress president for the “rashtrapatni” comment by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, whom she accused of insulting the President.

The references had been made by Ms Sitharaman on the morning of July 28 quickly after the laying of papers within the Home.
