Todd Boehly’s proposed takeover of Chelsea moved a step nearer to completion on Tuesday when the Premier League board introduced it had authorized his buy of the London membership.
Boehly’s consortium agreed a £4.25 billion ($5.3 billion) deal to purchase the Premier League membership from proprietor Roman Abramovich on Could 7.
And a Premier League assertion mentioned on Tuesday: “The Premier League Board has as we speak authorized the proposed takeover of Chelsea Soccer Membership by the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Consortium.”
The deal, nevertheless, stays topic to British authorities approval.
